A new web site with comprehensive online catalog has been produced by Cuesta Technologies for Healthy Kids Resource Center (HKRC), a program administered for the California Department of Education.
Based on Cuesta's Web-N-Able technology, the new web site located at http://www.californiahealthykids.org, sports Cuesta's "two click" philosophy. Whether educators want information on the Center, the materials, the review process, the review board, laws related to school health or access to a timely newsletter and other related resources, the information is always just two clicks away. It's easy for the staff at the HKRC to update the information because Web-N-Able provides a real-time web-based content management tool with a built-in menuing system.
Tino Banuelos, library clerk at HKRC said, "I never imagined that creating and maintaining our web site could be so much fun and so easy to do! In fact, most people don't believe our story of how simple the whole process has been."
According to Monty Swiryn, general manager of Cuesta Technologies, "The new HKRC site exemplifies the ease in which a business can take charge of their own web content. Once Cuesta set up the page templates and the underlying structure for the online catalog, the site was ready to go. The folks at HKRC were extremely pleased with the process from start to finish."

At the core of HKRC's business is a charter to encourage schools throughout California to establish stimulating and effective health education programs and to provide accurate and sound information about health issues. The deployment of the Center's new state-of-the-art searchable online catalog provides speedy access to its database, which was previously difficult to keep up-to-date and disseminate to educators. The new HKRC Online Catalog is searchable by a myriad of criteria, and provides valuable professional reviews of the materials to educators nation-wide. Web visitors residing in California can place orders online to borrow the materials at no cost (not withstanding the return UPS charge).
Dr. Deborah Wood, Director of Healthy Kids Resource Center explains, "The response we've received from educators all over the country has been overwhelmingly positive. Cuesta's ability to understand our business and client requirements as well as to web enable our highly complex database is a remarkable achievement. We never expected the implementation to be so painless and bug-free."
