Cuesta Develops new Online Catalogs for Chelsea House Publishers and Creative Teaching Press, Enjoys Referral Business from Sister Companies
|

|
| April 14, 2004, Cuesta Technologies is pleased to announce TWO new online catalogs and Web sites for schools, teachers, libraries and parents. |
| As reported in the January, 2004 issue of American School and University Magazine, there is growing evidence that schools and universities are finding they can streamline their purchasing systems to eliminate much of the bureaucracy associated with procuring books and supplies by shopping online. This is the kind of report that makes education publishers re-think their Web strategies with an eye on the bottom line.
Print publishers looking to use the Internet to support sales and sales reps, generate online sales, provide customer support and simply make it easier for customers to do business with them, often feel overwhelmed by the daunting tasks associated with developing effective Web sites. Although Chelsea House Publishers and Creative Teaching Press are two unrelated companies, they shared a similar philosophy when it came time to look for a Web development team to partner with. These companies decided that it would be vitally important to turn to the Web development firm with the most experience in developing Web sites used by teachers and librarians.
"We especially liked that Cuesta had worked with our sister companies, Sundance/Newbridge and that they were familiar with the library market," said Randi Misher, VP of Marketing at Chelsea House Publishers. The final result is a new Chelsea House Publishers Web site that reflects their position in the industry as a publisher of high-quality, timely, curriculum-driven, nonfiction books for children and young adults. The professionally designed Web site takes visitors by the hand and provides secure online ordering, library processing, user registration, featured specials, extensive product information, special offers and a number of ways to contact the publisher. |
Creative Teaching Press publishes more than 1700 products. They needed a system that would allow them to easily promote seasonal and clearance items, as well as continually change the featured products for their various audiences. The marketing staff at Creative Teaching Press had been impressed when their sister company, Pacific Learning, showed them how Cuesta's e-commerce system included an easy-to-use content management system. They were further intrigued to learn that Cuesta provides real-time technical support, detailed weekly and monthly reports and excellent customer service.
"We are delighted to say that we hit the ground running with Cuesta. On the first day of operation, our new Web site received many more orders than we anticipated," said Tania Pickrell, Marketing Manager for Creative Teaching Press.
With nearly 30 years in the education industry, and 10 years of development behind their modular e-commerce systems and easy-to-use content management tools, Cuesta provides a cost-effective, time-tested solution that is fully supported by friendly customer service and technical support personnel. To date, Cuesta has worked with over 30 companies and organizations whose primary audience is educators. Experience counts in Web design and development and Cuesta has it. |
