Cuesta Technologies Announces Completion the New Online Outpost for the Science Weekly Newsletter.

Science Weekly

February 12, 2000
Redwood City, CA - Cuesta Technologies today announced its completion of ScienceWeekly, the new Online Outpost for the Science Weekly Newsletter.

"We are very proud of the interactivity of ScienceWeekly.com, the newest member of the Steck-Vaughn family of Web Sites," stated Kelly Caldwell, Online Marketing Manager for Steck Vaughn Company. As we have for the last several years, we relied on Cuesta Technologies to provide us with new tools to allow us to change content, quickly deploy new games and keep the site running at peak performance. "Once again, Cuesta delivered."

The new Science Weekly site features downloadable samples of the weekly publication, grade appropriate activities and interactive games derived from Science Weekly back issues. The new site is already generating interest from teachers, parents and students from all over the world. This month's games and activities are centered around the "Animal Tracks" issue. Fresh new games and activities will be posted monthly.

"Our goal is to support our current Science Weekly subscribers while enticing newcomers to try our services," said Claude Mayberry, publisher of Science Weekly. "We look forward to continuing to provide teachers, parents and children with added value as they return from month to month."

"Developing the Science Weekly Web site was particularly appealing to Cuesta because it allowed us to create a number of sophisticated Java applets (the games) that can be modified by non-technical content editors at Steck Vaughn," said Monty Swiryn, president of Cuesta Technologies. "It's an elegant delivery of leading-edge technology for supplementing classroom learning."
