Cuesta Technologies Common Beliefs and Best Practices for Publishers
Shared Beliefs
Whether the main purpose of your Web site is to offer e-commerce and easy access to product information, enable customers to buy and manage e-books and other digital assets, provide searchable directories or resource guides, serve as interactive marketing collateral or allow the updating of powerful databases via a simple Web interface, Cuesta-built Web sites always speak to three common beliefs defined by our illustrious clients:
  • Simple to navigate
  • Superior search mechanisms
  • Easy for non-technical personnel to update.

We're proud of our client base and our work.  If your company is frustrated by clunky navigation, speed and ease of use, difficutly in updating, adding new features over time, or an unrealiable service provider, you've come to the right place. We'll be honored to work with you to provide a quality custom Web application that is precisely engineered to improve communication while increasing profits, market awareness and customer satisfaction.

We believe that your clients wants to know who you are, what you do, and what you can do for them within a few seconds of landing on your home page.  Cuesta's "2-click" approach to site navigation will assist them.  They will be able to find what they are looking for and enjoy the benefits Cuesta's sophisticated database technology affords.  Cuesta understands K-12 products and their relationships like no other developer in the industry.  We have studied the ways teachers, administrators and purchasing agents search, browse and buy for more than 20 years.  This is one of the reasons publishers prefer working with Cuesta.

Cuesta is all about customer service.  We are available to our clients 24/7 year round.  On the rare occasion when you call during business hours and you reach our voice mail, we will return your call promptly.  Our clients have access to our programming staff via a special service email address and their technical support issues are received and reviewed within moments of receipt.  We "wear the beeper" so you don't have to.  Cuesta clients rest assured that their Web sites are monitored and cared for.  Cuesta's customer service is legendary. We are confident that if you ask any of our current or past clients, they will verify this claim.

Client History: National Geographic Children's Books-
A big company such as National Geographic sometimes has to look beyond its own resources to get things done for its smaller divisions in a timely fashion.  Cuesta had developed a Website for Natinoal Geographic's School division in the late '90s, so in 2000, when they needed a reliable Web developer for their Children's Books division, they turned to Cuesta.

Cuesta had a proven history for providing nearly 100% "uptime", something that was very important to National Geographic.  They needed a product and author database, and the ability to integrate correlations they received from a 3rd party correlations provider directly into their product pages.  Further, it was important to them that their customers be able to search for products and find the correlations as well as to search for specific state standards and find products that met them.  Along the way, their database manager moved on.  When they told us about their dilemma, we said, "let us do that for you".  Because many of Cuesta's team are educators, it was an easy task for us to take on. We understand their needs, we understand their products and series structure, and we were happy to do it.  We are proud of our nearly 15-year relationship with National Geographic.

We chose to work with Cuesta because of their unique understanding of how schools and libraries make purchase decisions. Two websites and six years later, we continue to be very pleased with their level of client service."
